I have read quite a huge volume of books throughout my entire life but there are only 5 books which I believe had a significant impact and transformation on my life.
They have changed the way I think and the way I do things. These ‘golden nuggets’ have inspired me to keep taking actions consistently on a daily basis that have changed my own life.
And I truly believe they will also help you the same way they did to me.
These books are my recommendations and there is a primary purpose to each book which aims to help you achieve your goals in life.
BOOK #1: START WITH WHY
This first step is to grab this book to make every effort to read if you want to achieve and sustain anything big in life. It is truly an awesome book which I had read 3 times myself. Simon Sinek talks about “The Golden Circle” which reminds us how much more we can achieve in life if we start with everything we do by first asking WHY. By asking WHY you will find your true purpose, cause or belief and that is the reason WHY you get out of bed every morning. Knowing your WHY is not the only way to be successful, but it is the only way to maintain a lasting success.
BOOK #2: 80/20 SALES AND MARKETING
The second step is learning how to prioritize and focus on the vital few’s to give you the biggest impact. This book is recommended to help you understand the power of the “80/20 Rule”. Perry Marshall explains the maths behind the Power Law in so detail in this book, that once you have grasped the concepts of the power curve, it will drive you to prioritize and focus on the vital few to get the maximum out of your efforts. Focusing only on the 20% of the 20% that really matters using the Power Law will cut your work in half and double your output, productivity and bottom line.
BOOK #3: THE 10X RULE
The third step is to take massive actions on the vital fews. The sooner you understand that knowledge is not power, implementation is power, the faster you will be able to achieve your success. This book has 23 chapters where Grant Cardone will teach you how to use the “10X Rule” to establish the amount of effort needed to guarantee success and ensure that you can continue operating at this level throughout your entire life. The 10X Rule guides you toward the frame of mind to aim 10 times higher than you are right now and reach your goals that you previously thought were impossible.
BOOK #4: PEAK
The fourth step is to achieve mastery. If you make a point to read this book, you will begin to understand that life has no short cuts if you want to be the best at what you do. Only by doing repeatedly and consistently, Anders Ericsson will prove to you that this is the way to realize your full potential that will lead you to mastery which will give you complete control and freedom. You will learn that you can achieve the extraordinary in life if you have the right type of training and extended practice to attain exceptional performance.
BOOK #5: THE COMPOUND EFFECT
This last book will teach you how to achieve success with small steps taken consistently over time. It one of my most favorite books because it is unbelievably true most people want instant gratification and so they ignore how this simple and yet powerful concept can help them achieve so much in the long run with gradual and subtle gains along the way. Darren Hardy will explain how you can put the “Compound Effect” to work for you and how you can reach your goals with confidence through seemingly small insignificant steps completed cumulatively over time. And honestly, this understanding has inspired me to take small massive actions every single day that created my success in so many ways. There is no miracle here, believe me, it works!
